Twickenham Football Tournament

During half term I had a football tournament at Twickenham Academy. When we arrived at the training ground, instead of hanging around we started training straight away. Then we started passing with our partners,1 touch and if we touched the ball more than once your partner would win a point and I would lose a point.

After that we played a match, my dad was giving me quite a bit of advice when I was taking a corner, for example: when I was about to cross the ball into the box  my dad way saying to me To whip the football into the danger area (penalty spot) as hard you can!”

Do you know what happened after that, well actually my friend scored by headering it into the back of the net. My team won that mini game, but I don’t even remember what the score was. After the mini game I felt realy happy because me and the players in my team were passing the ball to each other really nicely.

On the day of the tournament we started training three touch football and you have to stop the football on the line of cones that the coach had laid out for us. Then the referre came over to our coach and told him the Tournament was starting in 5 minites and to get the players on the pitch and for them to be already. I felt really excited and was hoping that we where going to win the match.

My position was striker and the team we were playing where called Aldershot. The whistle blew and then we started marking our players so that the player with the ball had no one to pass to and when he was taking a long time to pass the ball to his team mate we takled him reallyhardly and we then won the ball. when the whistle blew, which ment the match was over, I was really annoyed because of what I was thinking at the begining of the game. We had lost the game. I had felt really unhappy and I wish that my team had passed the ball and then straight away moved into space. If we had played that way we would of won the match easyily and that what the other team Aldershot had played like.
