It was a really exciting day for me because I went to the Chelsea training ground in Cobam for the Asian star event 2012. When me and my dad arrived at our denstination, we saw over 500 children trying out. It was amazing to see that many people come and take part. We were split up into groups while the Chelsea coaches set up some drills for us to do.
We did speed tests, dribbling tests, shooting practice, 5m-30m sprints and other things. I also made quite a few friends, there names were Arjun, Bilal, Kuran, Shavy and Adam.
We also played a game called numbers. What you have to do is that you have a mini pitch and there are 4 cones on each corner of the pitch.Then the coach puts you into groups. In your group you number yourself 1-5 for example and then you wait for the coach to call out a number like 2. So if you where numbered a number 2 you quickly go onto the pitch and try to score a goal. If you score a goal you group or team win a point and if you don’t score your team doesn’t receive a point and they stay with the number of points that your team has already got.
After lunch we were put into teams and we played games. At the end of the games there was presentation of medal and certificates for taking part, doing your best and an overall winner in year categouries as the new Asian Star. Everything was amazing and all of the staff were very kind, helpful and they all had alot of football skills and tips. I had an amazing day and I am looking forward to next years event already.
